Backfiring mini bikes

The other day i was working on a buddies pit bike due to a lack of maintance and some problems with ignition. After changing a stator,I changed oil and gas, cleaned air filter, cleaned the carb, and used a little magic dust. The bike started and ran fine for a day, but had some problems backfiring and sputtering when in the high and low R's. After a simple adjustment of the fuel/air screw the bike was running way better. Also SEAFOAM kicks ass. I wish i would have tried that on my other buddies bike! He ended up selling it due to a similar problem. Ha HA. It could have been the valves needed to be adjusted also, who knows.
